Species overview
Small size fish, moderately elongate, snout short, chin with feeble swelling, eye diameter a little less than length of snout, pectoral fin not quite reaching pelvic fin.
Size observed: 105 mm SL, 114.5 mm TL.

Taxonomic description
-Body moderately elongate, body depth 20-22 % SL, greatest depth between pelvic and anal fin, outline of back slightly, belly stronger curved, upper profile of head steeply curved down, underside of head concave.
-Head length 24-26 % SL, head depth 15-16 % SL, 72-83 % body depth; snout short, strongly curved, not protruding mouth, 23-27 % postorbital length.
-Mouth small, terminal, upper jaw on a level with upper edge of origin of pectoral fin, edge of mouth on below anterior nostril.
-Chin with slight swelling, no appendage.
-Teeth notched, 7/8.
-Nostrils separate, circular, anterior on a level with centre of eye, posterior lower down; distance between nostrils nearly that of distance posterior to eye; axis of nostrils cutting axis of head at an angle of about 45°. Diameter of eye 12-17 % head length, 52-80 % snout length, 23-27 % postorbital length.
-Opercular cleft curved, 29-36 % head length, 35-44 % head depth.
-Dorsal fin 19, 16-19 % SL, anal fin 24-26 rays, 20-23 % SL, D originating behind, ending before A, predorsal length 63-67 % SL, preanal length 58-62 % SL.
-Pectoral fin obtusely pointed, nearly reaching base of pelvic fin which is closer to P than to A.
-Caudal fin rounded, both membrane and scaled part which is about half as long as entire fin. 67-72 scales in lateral line, 16 round caudal peduncle.
-Caudal peduncle 18-21 % SL in length, in depth 5-7 % SL, 35-52 % its length.
-Coloration Dark brown, a blackish bar between D and A.
