-Eye 8-13 % length of head.
-Opercular cleft slightly rounded, 26-41 % length of head, 39-57 % depth of head. Dorsal fin 15-18* rays, base of D 16-20 % SL, anal fin 20-25* rays, base of A 19-24 % SL, origin of D behind origin of A, end of D nearly opposite end of A.
-Predorsal length 63-69 % SL, preanal length 59-63% SL.
-Pectoral rounded, nearly reaching base of pelvic, base of P at lower edge of opercular cleft; V is closer to P than to A.
-Caudal with rounded scaled lobes, half as long as obtusely pointed membranes. 58-68 (60-67**) scales in lateral line, 8+ (16**) round caudal peduncle.
-Caudal peduncle 16-19 % SL, its depth 5-7* % SL, 29-39 % its length.
*) Including P. k. eburnuensis ü(**) = in B. k. eburnuensis.+) In original description: »? five longitudinal series [of scales] on the side of the caudal peduncle.« This is equivalent to 8 circumpedicular scales; Bigorne (1990) indicates 12.
