Remark on taxonomy
The original description of Brienomyrus curvifrons was based on a mixed sample, the paratypes being quite different from the holotype. The differences in coloration as well as in some proportions of the head suggested that actually there are to species. Collections made by Harder, mainly in 1978, at the type locality clearly confirmed the differences which also are striking in both duration and shape of the electric discharges.
