Etymology
henryi: »I dedicate the species to my friend Prof. Henry, of the Smithsonian Institution to whom I have been so much indebted for the privileges of studying the rich collections of the Institution, and especially of investigating the class to which the present species belongs. Joseph Henry (Albany 1799 - Washington 1878), famous American physicist, discoverer of the electrical induction, fundamental phenomenon of electromagnetism; became first Secretary of the Smithsonian Institution.
cobitis, (gr): kobitis: originally an anchovy, now a loach, because of the similarity in body shape; (lat.): forma, ae: shape, form, stature, beauty.
