Etymology
(lat.): squalor: dirt; The Roman naturalist Pliny (23-79) named fishes with a dark, "dirty" skin: squalus: sharks; (lat.): to stoma, matos: mouth, throat, opening. Here squalostoma means that the mouth reminds of a shark, it does not refer to the colour of the mouth.
