Etymology
leichardti : dedicated to Ludwig Leichhardt, (1813-?) German geologist, who went missing on April 3, 1848 while attempting to cross Australia. The spelling of the species name differs from the spelling of the person for whom the species has been named, but this is in accordance with the International Rules of Zoological Nomenclature.
