Species overview
Very small fish (?, only a holotype is known). Body elongate, upper profile of head concave, snout truncate, mouth slightly subterminal; pectoral fin extending to middle of pelvic fin; caudal peduncle slender: Yellowish brown, speckled and marbled darker brown.
Size observed: 47 mm SL.

Taxonomic description
-Body elongate, laterally compressed, body depth 19 % SL, greatest depth at about middle of body.
-Head length 23 % SL; head depth 18 % SL, 90 % body depth.
-Outline of back more or less straight, upper profile of head concave with a depression above the eyes, underside of head concave, outline of belly slightly convex, more or less running parallel to the back. base of anal fin.
-Snout truncate, feebly protruding mouth, about as long as diameter of eye, 23 % head length.
-Mouth rather wide, 25 % head length, slightly subterminal, edge of mouth between nostrils, edge of upper jaw on a level with lower edge of opercular cleft.
-Chin without appendage, inconspicuous.
-Teeth notched, 7/8.
-Nostrils separate, circular, anterior nostril slightly above, posterior one slightly below centre of eye, distance between nostrils equal to distance from margin of eye, axis of nostrils slightly tilted to axis of head.
-Eye small, its diameter 16 % head length.
-Opercular cleft slightly curved, 32 % head length, 41 % head depth.
-Dorsal fin 18 fin-rays, base of D 19 % SL, anal fin 23 rays, base of A 27 % SL, origin of D behind origin of A, end of D before end of A; predorsal length 59 % SL, preanal length 53 % SL.
-Pectoral fin obtusely pointed, extending a little beyond middle of pelvic fin. V is closer to P than to A.
-Caudal fin obtusely pointed, the scaled lobes covering 1/3 of the entire fin. 50 scales in lateral line; 12 round caudal peduncle.
-Caudal peduncle 21% SL, its depth 5 % SL, 24 % its length.
-Coloration »Light yellowish-brown all over, finely speckled and marbled darker brown; fin greyish«.Scales along lateral line dark brown.
