Species overview
Very small fish, body moderately short, deep, head slightly longer than deep, snout blunt, mouth inferior. Head without conspicuous aggregations of cutaneous sensory organs. Dorsal fin well posterior to anal fin, caudal fin obtusely pointed. Brown, dotted blackish. Known only from the holotype. Size observed: 55 mm SL.

Taxonomic description
-Body strongly laterally compressed, moderately deep, body depth 29 % SL, greatest depth above origin of anal fin.
-Head length 26 % SL; head depth 24 % SL, 81 % body depth.
-Outline of back rather straight, upper profile and underside of head convex, outline of belly slightly convex, bases of dorsal and anal fin running steeply to caudal peduncle.
-Snout rounded, short, 10 % head length, 17 % postorbital length.
-Mouth 24 % head length, inferior, its edge below posterior rim of lens, upper jaw on a level with lower edge of base of pectoral fin.
-Chin inconspicuous.
-Teeth notched, very small, 7/8.
-Nostrils closely together, upright-oval, on a level with centre of eye; axis parallel to axis of head.
-Eye diameter 17 % head length, 28 % postorbital length. No conspicuous aggregations of electrorecpetors, on the head.
-Opercular cleft curved, 45 % head length, 50 % head depth.
-Dorsal fin 19 fin-rays, base of D 19 % SL, anal fin 27 rays, base of A 27 % SL, origin of D well behind origin of A, end of D well before end of A; predorsal length 60 % SL, preanal length 54 % SL.
-Pectoral fin pointed, extending nearly to the tip of pelvic fin. V is closer to P than to A.
-Caudal fin pointed, scaled part short. 35 scales in lateral line; 12 round caudal peduncle.
-Caudal peduncle 20 % SL, its depth 6 % SL, 32 % its length.
-Coloration »-Body and fins brown, dotted with blackish«.
